Privacy Policy

Last updated: June 2026

Draft for legal review — not legal advice. Privacy obligations vary by jurisdiction (GDPR/UK-GDPR, CCPA/CPRA, PIPEDA, Québec Law 25, and others). Have qualified counsel review and localize this before public launch.

JobGetter is operated by TheeKruger Group Ltd., a British Columbia, Canada company, which is responsible for the personal information described in this policy. For privacy questions, to exercise your access, correction, or deletion rights, or to make a complaint, contact our privacy contact at privacy@jobgetter.app. JobGetter is currently offered in alpha / beta.

1. What We Collect

To help you find roles and prepare applications, we build an employment profile from information you provide: your account email; resume/CV and any documents you upload; work history, education, skills, and summary; job preferences and target roles; cover-letter voice samples; the application drafts we generate; your self-reported current salary (only if you provide it, for the Career digest's pay-vs-market read); and basic usage data. If you add a LinkedIn URL, we store it as a link you chose to share — we do not scrape your LinkedIn profile. Treat this as your personal employment information.

2. How We Use Your Data

We use your information only to provide the service you requested: matching you with relevant jobs and generating tailored materials (CVs, cover letters, application answers). We do not sell your personal data, and we do not use marketing or analytics tools to process your resume or employment profile.

3. AI Processing & Third-Party Providers

To generate, classify, rewrite, summarize, and match, we send the relevant portions of your information to selected third-party AI model providers and cloud providers — sending only what is reasonably needed for each task (data minimization). In particular, when generating your documents we strip your direct contact identifiers — email, phone number, and profile links — before sending anything to an AI provider, and re-attach them locally afterward, so those identifiers are not transmitted to the model. We use direct provider APIs (e.g. Cerebras, Groq, OpenAI, Anthropic, Google) under their API terms, on an allowlist of reviewed providers, and we do not sell your data or send it to advertising networks. During alpha this provider stack may change as we evaluate quality, speed, cost, reliability, privacy, and security. We use provider APIs under their terms and do not authorize providers to use your résumé, employment profile, or application materials to train their general-purpose models where our configuration or contract allows us to prevent that. We do not sell your personal information.

3a. Service Providers & International Processing

We rely on a small set of service providers to operate JobGetter — for example hosting and infrastructure, our payment processor, email delivery, optional product analytics (only if you opt in), and the AI model providers described above. These providers act on our behalf under their terms, and they or their subprocessors may process information in Canada, the United States, and other regions where they operate. We choose providers based on quality, reliability, privacy, security, and cost, and we share only what is reasonably needed for each task. We do not add a provider that routes your data to other models (for example a multi-model router) without updating this policy.

4. Applying to Employers

We send application materials to employers, recruiters, applicant-tracking systems, or job boards only when you choose to apply or authorize a submission. You review and approve what is sent before it goes out; we do not submit on your behalf without your action.

5. Cookies & Consent

Strictly necessary: we use a single authentication session cookie to keep you signed in, plus first-party browser storage for app settings (e.g. remembering your place in the queue). These are essential to run the service and are always on.

Analytics (optional, consent-first): we only load privacy-respecting product analytics if you accept them in the cookie banner — nothing analytics-related runs before you opt in. Analytics never process your resume or employment profile; they help us understand which features work. You can change or withdraw your choice anytime via “Cookie preferences” in the footer. We do not use third-party advertising cookies by default.

Email/document open-tracking (off by default): open-tracking on application emails and shared document links is disabled by default. Where it is enabled, that is an explicit, disclosed choice at send time, and it may record when an item was opened along with the opener's IP address, device/browser (user-agent), and time. Because the recipient may be an employer or recruiter, we keep this off unless you knowingly turn it on for a given send; results are best-effort and shown only to you.

6. Data Retention & Security

We keep your account data while your account is active. If you delete your account, we delete or de-identify the associated personal information within a reasonable period, subject to limited legal, security, fraud-prevention, accounting, and dispute-resolution requirements. Backups may retain copies for a limited period before they are overwritten or deleted on our normal backup cycle.

Data is encrypted in transit (TLS) and our integration secrets are encrypted at rest. We use reasonable administrative, technical, and organizational safeguards designed to protect personal information against unauthorized access, use, disclosure, modification, or loss. No method of transmission or storage is perfectly secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute security.

6a. Sensitive Information — Please Don't Over-Share

Please upload only what your job search needs. Do not upload Social Insurance / Social Security numbers, passport or government-ID numbers, birth dates, financial-account numbers, health or medical details, immigration documents, or other sensitive or protected-class information (such as race, religion, or marital status) unless an application truly requires it. If you choose to include such information, you do so at your discretion and are responsible for it.

6b. Legal Requests

We may access, preserve, or disclose information where we reasonably believe it is required to comply with applicable law, legal process, a court order, or a lawful government request, or to protect the rights, safety, property, and security of JobGetter, our users, employers, or others, or to detect, prevent, or address fraud, abuse, or security issues.

6c. Business Transfer / Successor Operator

If JobGetter is rebranded, assigned, transferred, spun out, merged, sold, or reorganized (see our Terms, Section 1a), your information may be transferred to the successor operator for the purpose of continuing the Service. The successor operator will be required to handle your personal information consistently with this Privacy Policy, or to provide notice of material changes where required by law.

7. Your Rights — Access & Deletion

You can edit your data from Settings. You can download a full copy of your data (Settings → Your data & privacy → Export my data) and permanently delete your account and associated data at any time (Settings → Delete my account), subject only to limited legal/backup requirements. Contact us if you need help exercising these rights.

8. Children

JobGetter is not intended for anyone under 18. We do not knowingly collect data from children.

9. Disputes & Governing Terms

Your use of JobGetter is also governed by our Terms of Service, which include important provisions on responsibility, disclaimers, limitation of liability, and how disputes are resolved under the laws of British Columbia and Canada. Please review them.

10. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time and will revise the "Last updated" date when we do.
